About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a vital part in ensuring the financial stability and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Maintain and monitor income and expenditure budgets through our ledger system.
    • Investigate variances on budget statements and make required budget and expenditure adjustments in accordance with established procedures.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance
    • Hold regular budgetary meetings with budget managers, providing sensitive and complex information and advice.
    • Work closely with the Business Planning Team in the production of meaningful recharges to NHS and non-NHS bodies.
  • Financial Operations and Administration
    • Write and maintain desk procedure notes for own area of responsibility.
    • Provide information for the completion of our financial returns.
    • Produce annual pay costed budgets in line with our policy and procedures.
  • Training and Development
    • Assist in the training and development of Assistant Management Accountants.

Person Specification

Essential qualifications include 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C or equivalent. Desirable qualifications include understanding of current financial standards for basic accounts preparation.

Essential skills include previous experience of being part of a team, good computer skills in Microsoft, Word, and Outlook. Desirable skills include experience of working within the NHS and understanding of public sector finance.
