Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at The Openwork Partnership. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Financial Reporting & Control and the Finance Director in achieving our operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the month-end reporting process and subsequent analysis, leading the process for smaller subsidiaries.
  • Prepare regulatory reporting and complete returns for sign-off.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns, quarterly Corporation Tax estimates, and annual Corporation Tax computations.
  • Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts for the Group and seven subsidiaries.
  • Develop and maintain strong Excel models within financial reporting to support best-in-class analytical reviews and audit testing requirements.
  • Lead the audit work of smaller subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare MI packs for reporting to the Board and presentation of results at management committees.
  • Prepare MI for debt committee and complaints provisioning group.
  • Create and maintain successful relationships with internal and external suppliers and customers.
  • Respond to ad-hoc queries relating to financial or regulatory reporting.
  • Line manage, coach, and mentor two direct reports, ensuring they are well supported in all aspects of their work and development.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ideally ACA, preferably Big 4) with +2 years PQE.
  • Experience of working in a financial accounting role within a large organisation.
  • Previous experience of Financial Services sector, knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation.
  • Experience of HMRC & FCA reporting.
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP experience and knowledge advantageous.
  • Strong people (team and stakeholder) management skills.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Knowledge of operational cost base and projects financial management.
  • Professional manner; enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Flexible attitude; willing to support team members with cover and assistance.
  • Ability to build relationships with other business areas and external stakeholders.
  • Competent time management skills; able to prioritise, resource, and plan workload; willing to take initiative.
