What will your responsibilities include?

As an Entertainment News Journalist, you will be responsible for generating and reporting on daily celebrity and entertainment news, ensuring that the focus remains on the most relevant and sought-after stories. You will actively seek and propose exclusive content on a weekly basis, staying abreast of the latest developments in the entertainment industry. Your role will involve securing exclusive interviews and crafting engaging news pieces that enhance the richness of our content, while balancing both breaking news and feature articles.

You will be expected to optimize articles in line with digital SEO and social media strategies, adhering to our established digital style guide. Additionally, you will identify unique headlines and angles to enhance the searchability of our content. This position requires a flexible approach, as it involves working shifts on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Who are we seeking?

The ideal candidate is an experienced journalist with an NCTJ qualification or equivalent, possessing up-to-date knowledge of media law. You should have a solid track record in entertainment reporting within a fast-paced national or large regional newsroom. A keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for celebrity culture are essential.

In addition to responding to breaking news, you will cover a variety of events, from award ceremonies to red carpet functions. Therefore, a willingness to leverage your extensive network of contacts to source stories and interviews is crucial. You should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce content quickly while meeting tight deadlines. A strong background in SEO practices is also required.
