Job Overview

What will your responsibilities include?

As an Entertainment News Correspondent, you will be responsible for producing and reporting on daily celebrity and entertainment stories, ensuring that our content remains aligned with trending topics. You will actively seek out and propose exclusive stories on a weekly basis, while staying updated on the latest happenings in the entertainment industry. Your role will involve conducting exclusive interviews and crafting engaging news articles that enrich our platform with a blend of urgent updates and in-depth features.

You will optimize articles in line with digital SEO and social media strategies, ensuring adherence to our digital style guide. Your ability to identify compelling headlines and unique angles will enhance the searchability of our content. This position requires a flexible schedule, including shifts during evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate is a seasoned journalist with an NCTJ qualification or equivalent, possessing current knowledge of media law. You should have a solid background in entertainment reporting within a fast-paced national or major regional newsroom. A keen eye for detail and a genuine enthusiasm for celebrity culture are essential.

In addition to covering breaking news, you will report on various events, including award ceremonies and red carpet functions. Your extensive network of contacts will be invaluable in sourcing stories and interviews. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, along with the ability to produce content swiftly while meeting tight deadlines. A strong understanding of SEO practices is also required.
