Role Responsibilities

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for generating and covering daily news related to celebrities and entertainment, ensuring that our focus remains on the most sought-after stories. You will pitch and secure exclusive content weekly, staying ahead of the latest entertainment news. Your role will involve securing exclusive interviews and dynamic news pieces that enhance the richness of our content, balancing breaking news with feature articles.

You will optimize articles in line with digital SEO and social media strategies, write and edit according to our digital style guide, and identify unique headlines and angles to enhance content visibility. This position requires working shifts on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends, necessitating a flexible approach.

Candidate Profile

Who are we looking for?

You are an accomplished journalist with an NCTJ or equivalent qualification and a solid understanding of media law. You possess a proven history of showbiz reporting within a fast-paced national or large regional newsroom. Your attention to detail is exceptional, and you have a genuine passion for celebrity culture.

In addition to responding to breaking news, you will cover various events, from award ceremonies to red carpet appearances, so you should be eager to leverage your extensive network to gather stories and interviews. You have outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to produce content swiftly while meeting deadlines. You thrive under pressure and possess excellent SEO knowledge.
