Role Responsibilities

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for generating and covering daily news related to celebrities and entertainment, ensuring that our focus remains on the most sought-after stories. Your role will involve sourcing and pitching exclusive content weekly, while staying abreast of the latest happenings in the showbiz world. You will conduct exclusive interviews and craft engaging news articles that enhance the richness of our content, balancing both breaking news and feature pieces.

You will optimize articles in line with digital SEO and social media strategies, write and edit in accordance with our digital style guide, and identify unique headlines and angles to enhance content visibility. This role requires a flexible approach, as it involves working shifts on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.

Candidate Profile

Who are we looking for?

We are in search of an experienced journalist with an NCTJ qualification or equivalent, along with a solid understanding of media law. You should possess a proven history of showbiz reporting in a fast-paced national or large regional newsroom. A keen eye for detail and a passion for celebrity culture are essential.

In addition to responding to breaking news, you will cover various events, from award ceremonies to red carpet occasions, so you should be enthusiastic about leveraging your extensive network to gather stories and interviews. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, along with the ability to produce content swiftly while meeting tight deadlines. Experience with SEO practices is also required.
