About The Role

Morrison Water Services, part of the M Group Services Water Division, is seeking a highly skilled Water Design Lead to join our Engineer Team. As a leading service provider in the water and wastewater infrastructure sectors in the UK, we employ circa 3000 people across the UK and are committed to delivering exceptional services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, monitor, and control engineering output for projects, ensuring scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, and stakeholder management.
  • Balance the needs of multiple projects, providing leadership and technical coordination.
  • Actively coordinate with internal and external project team members, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Participate in client meetings, representing the company and its values.
  • Ensure the engineering team understands and applies the requirements of the CWA Management Systems, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and other relevant regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement and change management efforts, driving innovation and best practice.
  • Oversee performance management, mentoring, recognition, learning, and development, as well as corrective actions.
  • Approve design approach, calculations, drawings, and documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practice, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree qualified.
  • Chartered or Incorporated (CEng/IEng) or working towards.
  • Leadership skills to manage multi-discipline engineering teams and create positive change.
  • Previous utility industry knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to liaise and engage with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical advice to support and supervise junior staff.
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment, meeting project deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication and organisational skills.
  • Computer literate and conversant with the MS Office suite.
