Our services encompass design solutions for various stakeholders, including water utilities, municipal authorities, and property developers. Our team engages in a variety of initiatives related to Surface Water Management (SWM), drainage engineering, and wastewater treatment.
In response to an expanding portfolio of projects both domestically and internationally, we are eager to enhance our team by recruiting a Lead Water Management Engineer.
As a key member of the Asset Planning and Solutions Practice, you will play a pivotal role in influencing and shaping policies regarding the integration of green and blue infrastructure within drainage systems, urban development, and comprehensive planning.
This position is ideal for an engineer with a background in designing and implementing Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) who is passionate about project ownership, delivering effective solutions, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and contribute to the execution of engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgetary and timeline constraints.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary framework, engaging with teams across the UK and internationally to guarantee successful project outcomes.
- Maintain high standards of quality in project deliverables, ensuring compliance with established specifications.
- Foster strong client relationships by understanding their needs and proposing optimal technical solutions to address project challenges.
- Coordinate with other multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and directors across various markets.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
- Exhibit a proactive commitment to health and safety, with a solid understanding of CDM regulations.
- Lead the integration of digital engineering practices and innovative solutions within the water sector.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with relevant experience in the water sector.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in consultancy roles.
- Proven expertise in Surface Water Management and drainage design within a water engineering context.
- Technical proficiency in surface water management, drainage design, and blue-green infrastructure.
- Familiarity with drainage modeling software (e.g., MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow) and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., InfoWorks ICM).
- Experience in quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Strong collaborative skills, with a track record of successful teamwork in project delivery.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Desirable Attributes:
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Proficiency in additional software such as Civils3D or GIS.
- Knowledge of statutory approvals and planning processes.
- Possession of a full UK driving license.
- Chartered status with ICE or CIWEM, or progress towards chartership.
- Current knowledge of design codes and guidelines.
