About The Role

M Group Services, a leading provider of essential infrastructure services, is seeking a highly skilled Design Lead to join our Water Division. As a key member of our Engineer Team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs for our water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, monitor, and control engineering output for projects, ensuring scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, and stakeholder management.
  • Balance the needs of multiple projects, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet deadlines.
  • Lead the technical coordination and production of multi-disciplinary outputs and designs, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Actively coordinate with internal and external project team members, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in client meetings, presenting designs and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Ensure the engineering team understands and applies the requirements of the CWA Management Systems, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and other relevant regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement and change management efforts, identifying opportunities for innovation and best practice.
  • Oversee performance management, mentoring, recognition, learning, and development, as well as corrective actions.
  • Approve design approaches, calculations, drawings, and documents, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree qualification.
  • Chartered or Incorporated (CEng/IEng) or working towards.
  • Leadership skills to manage multi-discipline engineering teams and create positive change.
  • Previous utility industry knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to liaise and engage with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical advice to support and supervise junior staff.
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Computer literate and conversant with the MS Office suite.
