Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience of our students, supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning, and contributing to the effective management and development of other Teaching Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons, providing support to students and ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Take on the responsibility of delivering lessons and managing the classroom in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity and consistency in teaching.
  • Oversee and support the work of other Teaching Assistants, offering guidance and mentoring to help them achieve their professional development goals.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them reach their full potential.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the individual needs of students and contribute to their overall development.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience as a Teaching Assistant, with a proven track record of supporting and leading in educational settings.
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent, alongside relevant GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire both students and colleagues.
  • Flexible and resourceful, with the capability to step into various teaching and leadership roles as required.
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting the diverse needs of the students.
