Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons, providing support to students and ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Classroom Management: Take on the responsibility of delivering lessons and managing the classroom in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity and consistency in teaching.
  • Teaching Assistant Oversight: Oversee and support the work of other Teaching Assistants, offering guidance and mentoring to help them achieve their professional development goals.
  • Student Progress Monitoring: Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them reach their full potential.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the individual needs of students and contribute to their overall development.
Requirements
  • Experience and Qualifications: Significant experience as a Teaching Assistant, with a proven track record of supporting and leading in educational settings. HLTA qualification or equivalent, alongside relevant GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire both students and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and Resourcefulness: Flexible and resourceful, with the capability to step into various teaching and leadership roles as required.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting the diverse needs of the students.
