The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join our Eastern Construction team. This role will focus on identifying profitable opportunities within the construction sector, cultivating strong relationships with clients and consultants, and driving business growth in Essex, Hertfordshire, and Suffolk.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to target key clients and projects within the region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, consultants, and industry partners.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through direct communication, networking events, and market research.
  • Prepare compelling proposals and presentations that effectively communicate Kier's value proposition to prospective clients.
  • Manage a pipeline of opportunities, ensuring timely follow-up and effective communication throughout the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and estimators, to ensure seamless delivery of projects.
  • Provide regular reports on business development activities and progress towards targets.

Your Profile

  • Proven track record of success in business development within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of the construction market, including key players, trends, and challenges.
  • Exceptional relationship management and networking skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
