Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Operations Manager to join our team at Birmingham Hospice. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our charity shop in Harborne, Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of retail staff and volunteers to ensure excellent customer service and sales targets are met.
  • Oversee the visual merchandising, stock rotation, and health and safety procedures in the shop.
  • Drive sales growth and maximize revenue through effective merchandising, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Ensure the shop is maintained to a high standard, meeting brand expectations and company policies.
  • Develop and implement effective customer engagement strategies to drive customer loyalty and retention.
  • Monitor and control shop expenses, including stock, supplies, and utilities.
  • Collaborate with the Retail Area Manager and Superstore Manager to achieve business objectives and goals.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in retail management, with a strong track record of sales growth and team leadership.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, staff, and volunteers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and duties.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, including visual merchandising, stock management, and health and safety procedures.
