About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Support Professional to join our Asset Delivery team at Yorkshire Water. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading water company, contributing to the delivery of exceptional service while protecting the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Asset Recovery and Compliance: Assist in the recovery of asset failures, ensuring compliance with management procedures and regulations.
  • Identify Improvement Opportunities: Document asset improvement opportunities in safety, regulatory compliance, and affordability.
  • Provide Engineering Support: Ensure compliance with specifications, provide engineering support, and collaborate with other engineering teams.
  • Lead Standard Investigations: Lead or support Standard Investigations for pollutions and performance shortfalls.
  • Ensure Financial Management: Ensure robust financial management in all decisions.
  • Develop Engineering Strategy: Support the development of engineering strategy and standards.
  • Update Asset Information: Update asset information in collaboration with capital partners.
  • Analyze Asset Health: Review maintenance plans and analyze asset health for improvement.
  • Manage Onsite Works: Manage the delivery of onsite works for minor Mechanical projects.
Requirements
  • Formal Engineering Qualification: Formal engineering qualification to a minimum of HNC or equivalent (HND or degree preferred).
  • Engineering Experience: Previous engineering experience in water/waste/sludge treatment.
  • Developing Engineering Solutions: Experience in developing engineering solutions.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis Investigation (RCA).
  • Corporate IT Systems: Proficient in corporate IT Computer Systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Driving Licence: A full, valid driving licence (with no more than 6 points).
  • Internal Control of Work: Familiarity with internal Control of Work policies.
  • Asset Management Experience: Asset management experience in an engineering industry.
  • Engineering Institution Membership: Membership (or working towards membership) of a recognized Engineering Institution.
