Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at East Coast Community Healthcare CIC, working in the Stroke Unit at James Paget University Hospital. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and managing communication and swallowing difficulties in patients with stroke.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose communication and swallowing difficulties in patients with stroke
  • Develop and implement effective therapy programs to improve communication and swallowing skills
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for patients
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor patient progress
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
Requirements
  • Recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Registered member of HCPC/RCSLT
  • Dysphagia trained
  • Broad and varied clinical experience in the field of Stroke, minimum one year experience
  • Experience of working on an acute Stroke Unit (desirable)
