Job Title: SEN Teacher

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at a fantastic primary school. The successful candidate will be working with a Year 1 class where a high percentage of students have Special Educational Needs (SEN). The class includes two children with EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans), each supported by a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. Additionally, there is a strong focus on supporting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL), ensuring all learners can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of SEN students.
  • Collaborate with 1:1 Teaching Assistants and the SENCO to support children with EHCPs.
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive environment that encourages learning and development.
  • Foster strong relationships with pupils, parents, and other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to each child's education.
  • Adapt teaching methods to support EAL learners and children with complex learning needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with high SEN needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Familiarity with supporting students with EHCPs and managing the needs of children with 1:1 support.
  • Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to adapt to a diverse range of needs.
  • A patient, empathetic approach to teaching, with a passion for inclusion and differentiation.
