Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant for Global Learning Delay

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a child in Year 3 who has a Global Learning Delay. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to help the child with their academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring they can fully engage with the school curriculum.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, ideally in an SEN capacity, and possess a patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach. They will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement individualized learning plans and provide a nurturing environment where the child feels supported and confident.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with Global Learning Delay, focusing on personalized learning strategies.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment where the child can thrive socially and academically.
  • Encourage the child's participation in classroom activities and help manage their progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and SENCo to monitor and report on the child's development.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an SEN capacity.
  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • An understanding of Global Learning Delay or similar needs is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.
