About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work with a child in Year 3 who has a Global Learning Delay. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to help the child with their academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring they can fully engage with the school curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with Global Learning Delay, focusing on personalized learning strategies.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment where the child can thrive socially and academically.
  • Encourage the child's participation in classroom activities and help manage their progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and SENCo to monitor and report on the child's development.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an SEN capacity.
  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • An understanding of Global Learning Delay or similar needs is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.
