Job Title: Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to children and adolescents with mental health needs, working closely with our multidisciplinary teams to provide person-centred approaches to their independence and well-being.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). As a Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, from children to young adults, and provide clinical leadership to our teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise effectively with other services and agencies to ensure seamless care for our patients.
  • Manage mental health crises, including the use of the Mental Health Act where appropriate.
  • Support and enable appropriate admission and discharge of patients from inpatient units.
Person Specification
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • CCT in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Additional clinical qualifications.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
