Job Title: Consultant Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team at the Darwin Centre Adolescent Tier 4 Inpatient Service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Clinical Psychologist to work creatively to meet the diverse needs of Children and Young People. As a key member of our team, you will provide clinical leadership to psychologists and psychological professionals, developing and embedding psychological and trauma-informed approaches within the service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide clinical leadership and supervision to psychologists and psychological professionals.
  2. Conduct direct clinical work with patients, clinical consultation, and oversight of the psychology team.
  3. Supervise clinical colleagues and trainee psychologists.
  4. Lead strategic and workforce planning for the psychology team and contribute to the regional clinical advisory group.
  5. Deliver highly specialist psychological care to adolescent inpatients with complex mental health conditions.
  6. Provide clinical supervision and training to less experienced colleagues and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  7. Undertake formal research and act as field supervisor to doctorate trainees.
  8. Lead continual service improvement within the area.
  9. Promote a positive image of people with mental ill health or learning disabilities.
  10. Contribute to the Trust's sustainability goals and wellness initiatives.
Requirements
  1. Experience in DBT and working with individuals with high levels of risk and vulnerability, including those with Autism.
  2. Leadership experience in strategic planning and workforce development.
  3. Ability to work autonomously within professional guidelines.
  4. Commitment to safeguarding and protecting vulnerable clients.
