About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Nurse to join our team at HMP Highpoint South, a Category C men's prison in Suffolk, England.
As a Mental Health Nurse, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessments, initiate and review care plans, and develop treatment options for patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
You will assess patients' health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide care and support to patients
- Assess patients' physical and mental health needs and make appropriate referrals
- Make clinical judgments regarding immediate and long-term treatment needs

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- NMC Registered
- Qualified Nurse
- Mental Health experience
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills and IT literacy
- Ability to work within a busy environment
- Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a prison environment.
