Role Overview
  • Ensure that the designated production department adheres to the highest safety and environmental standards while maintaining approved operational practices.
  • Drive the team to produce high-quality products with minimal waste, all while meeting production output targets and schedules.
  • Supervise and support team members through training, coaching, and performance management to ensure all responsibilities are fulfilled.
  • Lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement to enhance departmental performance.
  • Communicate effectively and take necessary actions in response to any deviations in EH&S, quality, output, or manpower that may hinder target achievement.
  • Complete production output activities when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Maintain and update approved operational practices, ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with existing site Quality systems.
  • Propose and implement enhancements that improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S activities.
  • Monitor equipment and processes, reporting on their effectiveness and suggesting improvements.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, or deviations in quality or processes.
  • Ensure all quality control tests and inspections are conducted accurately, with deviations reported and documented appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and stock management within the system.
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping are upheld by addressing issues promptly.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Practical understanding of machine operations and engineering principles.
  • Awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Ability to recognize health and safety regulations and conduct risk assessments as needed.
  • Familiarity with coating procedures and relevant product knowledge.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP and IT systems.
  • NEBSM supervisory training or equivalent experience.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Organize, manage, and motivate the shift team effectively.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identifying training and development needs to ensure the team possesses the necessary skills.
  • Investigate instances of poor performance, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date training records for shift team members.
  • Communicate effectively across shifts and support the team with relevant company information.
  • Report operational and personnel issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other department supervisors to achieve common goals.
  • Ensure departmental schedules are met regarding volume, quality, and timeliness.
