About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist in Burns and Plastic Surgery, you will be responsible for providing high-quality physiotherapy care to patients with complex injuries and conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver advanced assessments and develop tailored rehabilitation programmes for patients with burns, plastic surgery, and hand therapy needs.
  • Rotate within the speciality every 6 months, working across in-patients, outpatients, adults, and paediatrics.
  • Provide an advisory service to patients, families, physiotherapists, consultants, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and provide specialist education and training to nursing, medical, and physiotherapy staff.
  • Be responsible for own continued professional development.
Requirements
  • Highly specialist knowledge of medical conditions relevant to the speciality and their impact on patient's functional abilities.
  • Highly specialist knowledge of the physiotherapy process and its application with the client group in the speciality.
  • Significant post-grad experience including working at senior level within Burns and Plastic Surgery/Musculoskeletal setting.
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of teaching and delivering presentations.
