Peripatetic Deputy Manager & Clinical Lead

This role will be based initially at a care home in East Sussex. You will then be required to support at our other locations from time to time within the region, including Uckfield, Shoreham on sea, Henfield and Wadhurst. Mileage will be paid from your base home.

As a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical) at Barchester, you'll travel across your region to manage and develop the teams in various care homes, to help us deliver the high quality care and service we're known for. Working closely with the General Manager or hiring manager, you'll help implement action plans that make sure our residents' needs are met.

Taking on leadership duties in the absence of the General Manager, you can expect to help with everything from care standards to motivating your team. You'll inspire a multidisciplinary team to make sure they help every resident to enjoy the best possible quality of life. That means leading by example and monitoring standards through regular audits, supervised clinical practice and checking our regulatory compliance. You'll set the highest standards and draw on your skills to develop and deliver strategies that will help you achieve your goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop teams in various care homes
  • Implement action plans to meet residents' needs
  • Take on leadership duties in the absence of the General Manager
  • Help with care standards and team motivation
  • Monitor standards through regular audits and supervised clinical practice

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration
  • Teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification
  • Previous experience of working within a nursing home setting
  • Evidence of continual professional development
  • Experience in helping residents with different health needs
  • Successful track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments
  • Strong knowledge of sales and marketing, and budget management
  • Track record of supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship
