About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to join our specialist Sussex-wide Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS). As a senior member of our team, you will provide high-quality, specialist applied systemic family therapy services to clients, their families, or carers with highly complex presentations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and management to staff, promoting high performance standards and achieving the Trust's objectives and priorities.
  • Undertake and/or participate in relevant clinical research, service evaluation, and audit.
  • Provide clinical supervision to eating disorder therapists, the duty team, and/or the home intervention team, fitting with individual stages of professional development and Trust Clinical Governance standards.
  • Act as a specialist systematic psychotherapy resource, providing systemic supervision, consultation, and training within CAMHS, in line with service development requirements.
  • Provide highly specialist assessments of referrals for clients with eating disorders of significant and complex nature, formulating and implementing plans for treatment and management.
  • Practice systemic psychotherapy with clinical autonomy, drawing on a range of models and brief interventions, being inclusive and considerate of individual needs and developmental stages.
  • Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options, taking into account complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the young person and their difficulties.
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management relevant to individual patients, including protective and risk factors present in the network of significant relationships.
  • Work jointly and collaboratively with other members of the CYP-FEDS to enhance and develop work with families, providing specialist systemic knowledge and skills.
