Public Health Consultant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Consultant to join our team at Opus People Solutions. As a key member of our Public Health team, you will play a crucial role in improving the health and wellbeing outcomes for older people, people with learning disabilities, and improving public mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver strategic leadership for improving health and wellbeing outcomes
  • Line manage the Senior Partnership Manager for Falls Prevention and the Suicide Prevention Lead Officer
  • Work with the Director of Public Health and other consultant colleagues to lead on improving the health and wellbeing of residents
  • Commission and work with partner organisations to improve outcomes
  • Lead specialist public health input to the work of the Adult Social Care Directorate and associated commissioning

Requirements:

  • Meet the Professional Development (CPD) requirements in accordance with FPH or other recognised bodies
  • Be on the General Medical Council (GMC) / General Dental Council (GDC) or the UK Public Health (Specialist) Register or other specialist register with a license to practice

About the Role:

This is a senior role in the local health and wellbeing community, working as part of a Public Health team and system committed to improving health and wellbeing in Cambridgeshire. The postholder will act as a change agent to enable delivery of relevant outcome indicators from the public health, NHS, and social care outcome frameworks.

The postholder will work across organisations, influence budgets held by those organisations, and advocate for change effectively to improve population and planetary health. The role will require working at a population level across prevention and care services and involve commissioning and working with partner organisations to improve outcomes.
