Key Responsibilities

As the Catering Operations Supervisor, your primary focus will be on promoting safety and adherence to regulations across all operations. This role emphasizes collaboration and oversight, ensuring that our airport and catering partners execute their daily responsibilities effectively. You will play a crucial role in resource management, including equipment utilization, inventory control, and waste reduction initiatives. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with United's policies and performance metrics.

  • Vendor & Performance Oversight
    • Manage vendor action plans and monitor performance
    • Identify operational challenges and quality concerns through data analysis and site inspections
    • Establish clear expectations with vendors to ensure consistent service delivery
    • Engage in real-time problem-solving with vendors to achieve operational goals
    • Promote standardization and share best practices among vendor partners
    • Leverage performance data to provide insights and support to partners
  • Compliance & Auditing
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to operational standards and safety regulations
    • Assist in investigations of safety incidents and develop corrective action plans
    • Collaborate with food safety and operational safety teams to maintain high standards
  • Financial Oversight
    • Supervise daily operations and perform audits to ensure accurate inventory management
    • Conduct spot checks on inventory levels of catering supplies
    • Provide insights on cost drivers and operational efficiencies
  • Change Management Support
    • Assist catering partners with the implementation of new initiatives and technologies
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop communication strategies for operational changes
    • Monitor the success of new initiatives and menu enhancements
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Act as a liaison between catering vendors and airport personnel
    • Facilitate communication and planning meetings to enhance operational efficiency
    • Serve as a point of contact for vendor support and escalation
    • Promote recognition programs to celebrate excellence in service
    • Provide expert guidance to catering partners and local teams
    • Regularly engage with catering leadership to ensure situational awareness and support

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Flexibility to work during critical operational periods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in various environments
  • Willingness to travel 50%-75%
  • Authorization to work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
  • Successful completion of the interview process is required
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is essential
