Key Responsibilities

  • Originate and process mortgage loans, including gathering and verifying loan applications, credit reports, and other documentation.
  • Conduct thorough credit analysis and make lending decisions consistent with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with branch personnel, VPs, SVPs, attorneys, members, appraisers, and realtors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and credit union policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree, CCUE Certification, or Associate in Arts degree or Associate in Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' lending experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in an office setting with physical proximity to other employees and members.

Work Environment

The Mortgage Loan Specialist will work in an office setting with physical proximity to other employees and members. Some background noise from other employees, copy machine, and telephone may be present. Local travel may be required.

Physical Demands

The Mortgage Loan Specialist must be able to comprehend and carry out job demands. The job requires a substantial amount of sitting, use of hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard, and use of hands and fingers to press telephone keypad and lift telephone receiver.
