We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team at Cherrymead Surgery as a Personal Assistant to the Doctors. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our medical professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and Patient Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for registering and managing patient records, including monitoring patient lists and transferring and filing patient records.
- Communication and Coordination: The candidate will communicate effectively with patients, practice team members, and external organizations, ensuring efficient and courteous interactions.
- Referral and Follow-up Coordination: The successful candidate will generate and send referrals to hospitals and other agencies, facilitating and arranging follow-up care as required.
- Problem Resolution: The candidate will address problems raised by patients regarding referrals and interactions with other agencies, such as healthcare providers, insurance companies, schools, and statutory bodies.
- Private Medical Services: The successful candidate will arrange efficient provision of private medical services, including the collection and recording of payments of fees.
- Meetings and Training: The candidate will arrange and facilitate meetings for the GP with District Nurses, Practice Nurses, Macmillan Nurses, Health Visitors, and external organizations as required.
- Health and Safety: The successful candidate will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others' health, safety, and security as defined in the practice Health and Safety Policy, the practice Health and Safety Manual, and the practice Infection Control policy and published procedures.
- Equality and Diversity: The candidate will support the equality, diversity, and rights of patients, carers, and colleagues, including acting in a way that recognizes the importance of people's rights, interpreting them in a way that is consistent with Practice procedures and policies, and current legislation.
- Personal and Professional Development: The successful candidate will participate in any training program implemented by the Practice as part of this employment, including participation in an annual individual performance review, taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development.
- Quality and Communication: The candidate will strive to maintain quality within the Practice, including alerting other team members to issues of quality and risk, assessing own performance and taking accountability for own actions, and contributing to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance the team's performance.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience: 1 year of office experience required.
- Language: English required.
- Work Authorization: United Kingdom work authorization required.
- Willingness to Travel: 25% willingness to travel preferred.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced medical environment, providing administrative support to our medical professionals. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a team.
