Job Title: Mental Health Nurse for Rough Sleepers

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals experiencing homelessness. As a Mental Health Nurse for Rough Sleepers, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care and support services to this vulnerable population.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contact and engage with rough sleepers, homeless individuals, and those in day centers and hostels to provide mental health assessments and interventions.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to address the unique needs of each client, including housing and social care requirements.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, social services, and community organizations to ensure a coordinated and responsive service.
  • Provide training and education to external agencies on mental health and homelessness issues.
  • Conduct regular outreach sessions in hostels and day centers to maintain contact with service users and contribute to the team's work.
Requirements:
  • RMN with current NMC registration.
  • Experience working in a setting that provided care for people who were acutely and chronically ill.
  • Understanding of the particular needs of homeless clients with enduring mental health problems.
  • Commitment to utilizing a range of mental health nursing skills to meet the needs of this client group.
