Rough Sleeper Support Specialist

We are working in partnership with a local authority to provide a comprehensive homeless prevention service. As a Rough Sleeper Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and advice to rough sleepers in the Catford area.

*** Experience working with vulnerable clients, including those with substance/alcohol and mental health issues, is essential to promote inclusion and support individuals in need.***

Main Duties:

  • Provide a comprehensive homeless prevention service to all rough sleepers in Catford.
  • Assess rough sleepers to determine their needs and develop personalized housing plans.
  • Work closely with Housing Solution Officers to ensure Personal Housing Plans are in place and up-to-date.
  • Develop specialist knowledge and skills to deliver a flexible and responsive housing needs service.
  • Engage rough sleepers into services using an outreach approach and work in partnership with other organizations.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date casework and data records.
  • Signpost or reconnect rough sleepers to their area of local connection.
  • Support rough sleepers to maximize their income through applications and appointments.

Requirements:

  • Experience in homeless prevention support and working with rough sleepers.
  • Knowledge of S184 decisions and local authority/public sector experience.
