We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Refuge Worker to join our team at Solace Women's Aid. As a key member of our staff, you will provide vital support and guidance to women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advice and support to women in a refuge setting, conducting risk and needs assessments, developing support plans, and carrying out key work with survivors.
- Work closely with women to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plans, and support them in linking with other agencies.
- Manage a caseload, ensuring timely and effective support to women and children.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide a holistic and empowering service, working towards independent lives free from abuse.
- Minimum of two years' experience working with survivors of domestic abuse or a similar client group.
- Deep understanding of the needs of women and children from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with women, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Knowledge of available legal remedies, housing, and welfare benefits, as well as experience in providing workshops and support groups.
