Job Title: Specialist Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Specialist Nurse to join our team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with dual diagnosis, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop person-centred care plans.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide specialist training, advice, and guidance to the wider inpatient team to enhance care and treatment
  • Assess complex clinical risk and develop risk management plans to ensure effective safeguarding for patients and others
  • Lead on audit and service development, contributing to the evidence base for treatment approaches
  • Take an active lead in complex cases, risk management, and safeguarding, in line with trust policy and procedures

Person Specification:
  • Relevant clinical experience and postgraduate qualification
  • First-level nursing qualification and registration
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in evidence-based psychological therapies relevant to the pathway
  • ENB 998/P126/127
  • Student Nurse Assessor Safeguarding Children and Adults Training
  • Non-medical prescriber qualification (if applicable)
  • Attained 'Specialist' level of competency as defined in 'Closing the gap' (CSIP 2006)
