Senior Regulatory Risk Analyst

Job Summary

Bruin is seeking a highly skilled Senior Regulatory Risk Analyst to join their team in London. As a key member of the Risk Management department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the bank's regulatory compliance and risk management processes are robust and effective.

Key Responsibilities


• Provide transparency and assurance to Risk Management and the board in the regulatory return process through considered presentation of dashboards, regular reports, and ad-hoc management information as required.


• Assist the Manager, Prudential Risk with Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) papers, fire-drill testing of recovery plans, the production of annual Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP), Pillar 3, Risk in the Advancement of Securities (RAS), recovery plan, and resolution packs.


• Review and challenge all regulatory returns required for the Bank of England (BoE), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), forming part of the second line of defense (2LOD). This includes liquidity, compliance, financial information, capital, and statistical information spanning all regulatory returns produced within the bank's UK operations.


• Develop and automate review tools and other management information to make the regulatory review process more robust, efficient, consistent, and objective.


• Keep abreast of, analyze, and communicate policy and market developments in regulatory reporting to relevant stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.


• Act with care and attention towards first line of defense (1LOD) functions in the production of regulatory returns, developing and recommending solutions in a supportive and constructive manner.

Requirements


• Regulatory reporting experience, covering liquidity, capital, and statistical reporting. Must have hands-on experience producing the reports.


• Ideally acted as the second line of defense challenger in relation to regulatory reporting.


• Good understanding of the various banking systems and end-to-end internal regulatory reporting process.


• 4+ years of experience in the regulatory function of a bank.


• Strong knowledge of banking products.


• Team player with a can-do attitude. Happy to step out of their comfort zone and learn new skills.


• Advanced Excel skills and very proficient and creative in PowerPoint & Word.


• Qualified accountant ideal, not essential – desired to be credible in challenging and understanding of returns.
