About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Logistics and Facilities Support Specialist to join our team at Porton Down. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our site by managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, and providing administrative support.

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintain meticulous records of stock levels, processing orders for materials, components, and lab equipment.
  • Coordinate the delivery and distribution of supplies to technicians across various departments.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring timely procurement of necessary goods and services.
  • Oversee the efficient management of waste figures, processing payments to subcontractors, and preparing meeting minutes for facilities-related discussions.
  • Contribute to a safe and secure working environment by monitoring security systems and adhering to established EFS and client processes for laboratory conditions.
  • Provide administrative support, including handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist with minor maintenance tasks, such as painting, repairs, and general upkeep of facilities.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in stores management, coupled with excellent organizational and communication skills. A technical background or qualifications in a craft skill would be highly advantageous.

You should be a proactive individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
