Senior Cost Consultant

We are AGM Construction Recruitment, a leading construction recruitment agency based in Essex, and we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Consultant to join our team.

About the Role:

  • As a Senior Cost Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, ensuring the successful management and control of all financial aspects of our projects.
  • You will work closely with our project management and estimating teams to provide accurate costings, manage budgets, and maximize profitability.
  • Responsibilities will include preparing and submitting detailed cost estimates and budgets for painting and decorating projects, conducting thorough cost analysis to ensure competitiveness and profitability, and monitoring project progress and financial performance.
  • You will also be responsible for liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate and finalize contract terms and pricing, while actively pitching for new business opportunities.
  • Additionally, you will evaluate and assess contract documents, identifying and mitigating potential risks, and prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts.
  • You will assist in the procurement process, including the selection and appointment of subcontractors and suppliers, and provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the painting and decorating industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
