We are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit, Risk and Insurance Team at Thurrock Council.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of conducting risk-based internal audits and consultancy reviews, ideally within the public sector.

Key responsibilities include contributing towards the creation and review of the rolling risk-based Internal Audit plan, and building professional and constructive relationships with key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be highly effective at adding value and supporting services and Thurrock Council through its journey of improvement.

Talent management is a top priority, with a full commitment to encouraging and supporting continual professional development.

The Senior Auditor role will be the subject of a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Key skills and qualifications include a recognised professional Internal Audit qualification, public sector experience, and excellent numeracy and English literacy skills.

The successful candidate will also be able to travel to external sites and meetings as required.
