Position Overview

The Tax & Financial Accounting team operates on a global scale, overseeing the preparation and submission of both indirect and direct tax filings, statutory accounts, and treasury back-office functions. This role is pivotal in maintaining a high standard of service delivery in accordance with established timelines.

Adherence to company policies is essential, and you will be expected to perform your duties within set timeframes while delivering exceptional service to all Informa stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

The Accountant will undertake several key responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting the accounting and reconciliation processes for share schemes.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns with precision, adhering to deadlines for both UK and international submissions.
  • Compiling and submitting EC Sales lists.
  • Timely follow-up on all relevant inquiries.
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard and within deadlines.
  • Drafting the annual PSA return.
  • Calculating and reviewing total tax contributions for both direct and indirect taxes.
  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of corporation tax and withholding tax returns.
  • Conducting detailed analyses of general ledger codes for tax return purposes.
  • Facilitating the acquisition of certificates of residence from tax authorities.
  • Preparing draft statutory accounts with clear and organized working files.
  • Assisting with iXBRL tagging of statutory accounts.
  • Supporting the posting, reporting, and other tasks related to dormant and non-trading entities.
  • Preparing and reviewing National Statistic returns.
  • Assisting in the review of work completed by Assistant Accountants as needed.
  • Contributing to daily and monthly treasury back-office processes.
  • Monitoring team inboxes and responding promptly to VAT, financial compliance, and withholding tax inquiries.
  • Assisting with system testing for VAT rule changes and establishing new VAT registrations globally.
  • Preparing information for internal and external stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Engaging in project work as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Shared Service Centre processes and their integration into the broader business environment.
  • Solid grasp of Tax & Financial Accounting best practices, including people, processes, and technology.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and priorities effectively while delivering high-quality work and supporting junior team members.
  • Proven decision-making skills based on available information.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, fostering positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
  • Maintain approachability under pressure.

Educational Background:

  • Strong academic credentials, preferably with an Accounting degree.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
