Additionally, they will gain experience to effectively communicate complex technical, scientific, and sensitive information to colleagues in both verbal and written formats.

Trainees must meet the HCPC's standards for training, professional skills, behavior, and health.

Detailed Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Support the procurement, acceptance, and utilization of medical devices and consumables.
  • Ensure the safe operation of complex scientific and medical equipment, documenting all maintenance and calibration procedures and any corrective actions taken.
  • Utilize reagents, consumables, and hazardous materials safely in accordance with Health and Safety policies.
  • Engage in risk management procedures, including risk assessments and reporting adverse incidents.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and quality assurance processes.
  • Conduct research and development within the department as an integral part of training and acquire relevant skills for clinical audits.
  • Assist in the supervision and training of support staff, students, and new hires, and take part in departmental seminars and scientific meetings to share knowledge gained through study or research.
