Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated People Operations Manager to join our esteemed charity organization, responsible for overseeing all facets of human resources practices and processes.

In this role, the People Operations Manager will serve as the primary contact for all employee and workforce-related matters, managing essential activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development, and talent management. This position reports to our People Committee and is crucial for creating and executing our workforce strategic plans.

As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, the People Operations Manager will play a vital role in our business success. Recognizing that our people are our greatest asset, you will be instrumental in fostering a happy and productive workplace where everyone collaborates to achieve our mission. Main Responsibilities

Key Duties

1. Formulate and execute HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business objectives.

2. Facilitate effective management and employee relations by addressing concerns, grievances, and other issues.

3. Oversee the recruitment and selection process to attract top talent.

4. Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and retention of human capital.

5. Design and monitor comprehensive HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.

6. Foster a positive working environment for staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

7. Manage a performance appraisal system that encourages high performance.

8. Maintain compensation structures and benefits programs.

9. Identify training needs and oversee the implementation of training programs.

10. Provide management with decision support through HR metrics and reporting.

11. Ensure compliance with legal regulations throughout human resource management.

12. Manage relationships with our HR and Paralegal service providers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements.

First Steps ED is a leading charity focused on evidence-based support for eating disorders, impacting individuals across various demographics. We are the only specialist VCSE organization in England dedicated to assisting children, young people, adults, and their families through compassionate, person-centered therapy and psycho-educational services, both in-person and online.

This position is primarily home-based, with occasional travel required to collaborate with our teams in the Midlands and Home Counties.
