Job Title: Highway Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Highway Supervisor to join our team at Marlborough Highways. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient execution of highway maintenance and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate teams of directly employed and subcontracted labor to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments and method statements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage and liaise with subcontractors and freelancers as necessary.
  • Conduct regular health and safety inspections and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and issue works orders and permits, and complete daily site diaries.
  • Organize and resource staff, labor, plant, and materials to ensure effective and economical project execution.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating potential risks and delays.
  • Collaborate with the contract manager and operations manager to ensure projects are commercially viable.
Requirements:
  • Prior supervisory experience in a highways or civil engineering setting.
  • Understanding of highways term maintenance contracts and ability to generate and deliver monthly reports.
  • Driving license and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong background in health and safety policies and procedures.
