About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner to join our expanding Perinatal Mental Health Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing specialist assessment, care planning, and interventions to pregnant women and new mothers with severe and complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex caseload, including specialist assessment, care planning, and evaluation of individual treatment plans.
  • Participate in the setting of quality standards, including auditing, monitoring, and reviewing of practice in line with current clinical guidance and policy.
  • Administer medication, complying with relevant Trust procedures and NMC Guidance.
  • Assess patient's individual care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care.
  • Deliver a range of interventions in accordance with the agreed plan of care and Pathway guidance, including pharmacological and psychologically informed interventions.
  • Complete and contribute to robust risk assessments and risk management plans, promoting positive risk taking to improve quality of life and maximise occupational performance/independence.
  • Maintain an effective reporting system, observing and reporting verbally and in writing on patient condition.
  • Utilise agreed outcome measures to review the effectiveness of interventions, as part of the care planning and evaluation process.

Person Specification
  • Registered mental health Nurse or Occupational Therapist.
  • Post-registration experience, evidence of formal courses and training at diploma/degree level.
  • BSc degree in nursing/social work/occupational therapy or equivalent level.
  • Qualification in providing supervision.
  • Qualification in coaching.
  • Non-medical Prescriber.
  • Phlebotomy.
