Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate perinatal mental health practitioner to join our expanding Perinatal Mental Health Team. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work with expectant and new mothers with severe and complex mental health problems.

About the Role

As a perinatal mental health practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering care to individuals with perinatal mental health needs. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, interventions, and support for pregnant women and women in the postnatal period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex caseload, including specialist assessment, care planning, and evaluation of individual treatment plans.
  • Participate in the setting of quality standards, auditing, monitoring, and reviewing practice in line with current clinical guidance and policy.
  • Administer medication, complying with relevant Trust procedures and NMC Guidance.
  • Assess patient's individual care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care.
  • Deliver a range of interventions, including pharmacological and psychologically informed interventions.
  • Complete and contribute to robust risk assessments and risk management plans.
  • Maintain an effective reporting system, observing and reporting verbally and in writing on patient condition.
Requirements

We are looking for a registered mental health nurse or occupational therapist with post-registration experience and evidence of formal courses and training at diploma/degree level. You will also have experience of working with adults experiencing mental health-related difficulties, particularly in a community setting.
