About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Childcare Assessor to join our team at Newham Sixth Form College. As a Childcare Assessor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students on NCFE T-LEVEL programmes at level 2 and level 3.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and grade student work, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.
  • Visit students at their work placements, observing and assessing their skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.
  • Prepare students for assessment visits, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident in their abilities.
  • Collaborate with NCFE moderators, tutors, and curriculum managers to ensure high-quality teaching and learning practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, employers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective partnerships and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum materials, assessments, and other resources to support student learning.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to ensure the college meets its standards and expectations.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in childcare or a related field.
  • Excellent assessment and moderation skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
