We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Metabolic Medicine and Chemical Pathology to join our team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical and analytical services in the management of patients with metabolic disorders and chemical pathology.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality clinical and analytical services in the management of patients with metabolic disorders and chemical pathology.
- Share responsibility for the day-to-day management of patients with colleagues.
- Develop and implement new ways of working and coordinating care for patients in the community.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and contribute to the development of the service.
- Supervise and train junior medical staff and participate in the appraisal and assessment of juniors.
- Contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, nurses, and junior medical staff.
- Participate in the provision of a reliable and high-quality clinical and analytical Chemical Pathology Service.
- Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of recent developments in Clinical Biochemistry.
- Participate in the on-call service and cross-cover annual leave for colleague Consultants.
- Actively participate in departmental audit and clinical governance.
