Clinical Pathology Consultant

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pathology Consultant to join our team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive clinical service to a population of 1.1 million, centered at one site but providing a service for the three acute hospital sites in Leicester and having excellent links across the local region.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients.
- Sharing responsibility for the day-to-day management of patients with colleagues.
- Promoting new ways of working and coordinating care for patients in the community and ensuring that services are based on effective and integrated partnerships across the health community.
- Participating in multidisciplinary case conferences.
- Supervising and training junior medical staff.
- Being involved in appraising and assessing juniors.
- Teaching, research, and administration.
- Proactively developing the service.
- Actively participating in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.

Key Requirements
- Post CCT Chemical Pathology.
- GMC Registration.
Desirable Criteria
- NHS experience.
Essential Experience
- Experience in a supervisory capacity in an NHS Trust.
- Experience in a department with a laboratory attached.
