Safety and Security Specialist

Position Summary:
The Safety and Security Specialist is integral to the operational team, focusing on security and loss prevention. This role involves maintaining a vigilant security presence and performing routine security inspections throughout the retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome customers as they enter and exit the premises while managing access control Foster a welcoming and secure atmosphere for all patrons through effective communication and teamwork with store personnel Oversee all store operations and promptly address any security or safety concerns Aid in reducing losses and safeguarding assets by upholding stringent operational protocols Participate in all store meetings and events Build and sustain professional relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring they are informed about relevant updates, including local law enforcement and other retailers Adhere to all safety protocols during fire alarms and emergencies Evaluate and assist in developing security measures for the store, including emergency response plans Complete and submit incident documentation, health and safety assessments, operational control checklists, and action plans Conduct security evaluations aimed at preventing property loss Provide training for new hires and ongoing staff to enhance loss prevention awareness Support initiatives to uphold brand standards in delivery and merchandising Collaborate with the Senior Loss Prevention Manager to influence strategies for loss mitigation Maintain the functionality of store security equipmentCandidate Profile:
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a security role within a retail environment Strong understanding of workplace safety and emergency protocols Previous experience in Loss Prevention is preferred Valid first aid and CPR certifications are required Possession of a Security Guard License, or willingness to obtain necessary licensing A collaborative team player with a growth-oriented mindset Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Strong skills in record keeping, report writing, and observation Exceptional judgment and decision-making capabilitiesAdditional Benefits:
