About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Cycas Hospitality. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our hotel's facilities and maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, including plant and equipment, to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Conduct regular walk-rounds of the hotel and grounds to identify potential issues and take proactive measures to prevent problems.
  • Perform short-term maintenance work, including repairs and replacements, to ensure minimal disruption to guests.
  • Carry out ad-hoc decorating work and regular service and maintenance of lock systems.
  • Conduct weekly checks of all fire alarms and take action in line with Standard Operating Procedures if any are found to be faulty.
  • Liaise with contractors on site to ensure that Permits to Work are completed in compliance with Company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Act as Clerk of Works to regulate work carried out by contractors.
  • Carry out work on ad-hoc projects using your skills and knowledge to ensure the most efficient and effective outcome for the hotel.
  • Use, operate and store all tools, equipment and materials safely and securely to comply with statutory regulations.
  • Respond to call-outs in line with rota and department standard practice.
  • Carry out checks of maintenance materials at least weekly, keeping stock levels to the minimum necessary to maintain continuity of service.
  • Maintain operational standards to the highest possible level in respect of service, hygiene, health, and safety and ensure that there is minimal wastage.
  • Perform some gardening and ground maintenance work as required.
Requirements
  • Previous maintenance experience within a hotel and a good knowledge of Health and Safety at work is essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and guests.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a shift pattern, including evenings and weekends.
