Role Overview:


This position is remote/home-based, requiring the employee to maintain a suitable home office environment.

The primary responsibility is to deliver professional subsidence services related to domestic and commercial building insurance claims.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage a portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims while ensuring service levels are consistently met.
  • Identify damage causes and construction defects, assess repair needs, and schedule necessary building repair works.
  • Investigate and resolve subsidence and general peril insurance claims.
  • Make decisions on settling or declining claims within the delegated authority limit.
  • Oversee the appointment and management of third-party suppliers, including Arboricultural consultants and site investigation providers.
  • Collaborate with surveyors and review surveyor reports.
  • Adhere to customer quality standards and service level agreements.
  • Update and create building repair schedules using the in-house schedule of rates.
  • Contribute positively to the company's vision and values.
  • Participate in regular supervisions and annual performance evaluations.
  • Engage in training and professional development as necessary.
  • Promote the use of technology and self-service solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with information security controls within the team and supplier services.
  • Address any action points arising from audits and reviews promptly.
  • Understand and comply with company policies.
  • Exhibit positive information security behavior.
  • Report any concerns or incidents to the Information Security Forum.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and support colleagues.
  • Encourage and support innovation throughout the organization.


Essential Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Building Surveying
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in subsidence
- In-depth knowledge of structural defects affecting buildings
- Ability to diagnose damage causes remotely based on information provided by others
- Expertise in subsidence engineering/surveying
- Familiarity with the insurance industry and understanding of insurance liability
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Proficient problem-solving abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
- Self-motivated and flexible
- Strong attention to detail
