About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Technical Manager to join our team at Davies. As a key member of our subsidence and surveying department, you will play a crucial role in providing expert technical support and guidance to our clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical support and guidance to clients and colleagues on subsidence and surveying-related matters, including damage assessment, repair requirements, and insurance claims.
  • Investigation and Resolution: Investigate and resolve subsidence and general perils insurance claims, including instruction of temporary or emergency works to make damaged buildings safe.
  • Building Pathology: Conduct building pathology investigations, including assessment of asbestos and damp problems, and provide recommendations for repair and remediation.
  • Policy and Procedure: Understand and implement company procedures and policies related to subsidence and surveying, and actively promote the principle of treating customers fairly.
  • Communication and Liaison: Liaise with clients, policyholders, local authorities, third parties, claims handlers, and other work colleagues as required.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain and update accurate records on the company claims management IT system.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing development opportunities, training programs, and support in obtaining professional qualifications.
Requirements
  • Education: Educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline, e.g. Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Surveying, or similar.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, articulation, and numeracy skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Experience: Proven experience in subsidence and surveying, with a strong understanding of building construction and foundation systems, and experience of cost control and financial awareness.
  • Professional Qualifications: Possession of relevant professional qualifications, such as Chartered Building Surveyor or Chartered Engineer.
